Liquid Humic Acid for Saline and Alkaline Soils in Pakistan
Large areas of canal-irrigated land in Punjab and Sindh face secondary salinity and high pH, conditions that reduce how well roots can take up water and nutrients even when fertilizer is applied at the correct rate.
Humic acid helps in these conditions by improving soil structure and reducing the binding of nutrients to soil particles, giving roots better access to whatever nutrients — including zinc and potassium — are already present or applied alongside it.
Liquid humic acid, such as Nappier (10% humic acid, 3.5% K2O), is particularly practical for saline-affected fields because it can be applied through existing irrigation or spray equipment without requiring a separate soil-incorporation pass.
It isn't a substitute for proper drainage and irrigation management on badly affected land, but as part of a broader reclamation and nutrition program, regular humic acid applications measurably improve crop stands on marginal, salt-affected soils over successive seasons.
