How to Mix and Apply Liquid Zinc 10% for Maximum Uptake
Liquid zinc fertilizers like Scotch (Zn 10%) are formulated to mix cleanly into a spray tank, but water quality still matters โ very hard or alkaline water can reduce zinc availability before the spray even reaches the leaf, so avoid mixing with highly alkaline water sources where possible.
When tank-mixing with other inputs, add liquid zinc after other products are already dissolved and the tank is agitating, rather than dumping it in first, to avoid clumping or incompatibility with certain pesticides or other micronutrient blends.
Spray coverage matters more than concentration for foliar zinc โ a fine, even mist that wets the leaf surface without excessive runoff gives better uptake than a heavier, less uniform application at the same total dose.
Apply in the early morning or late afternoon rather than the heat of midday, and avoid spraying within a few hours of expected rainfall so the zinc has time to be absorbed before it's washed off.
